We Care About Every Step Till You Walk on it and Beyond

On this page you may learn in detail about the process from ordering till the delivery of a finished product.

Ordering & Timeframe

After receiving your initial order form from the COLLECTION section of this website, we will contact you using the provided contact details for personal communication to clarify any details. If your order form lacks the approximate square meterage, our representative will require a drawing in DWG, DXF, PDF, or a clearly marked sketch with dimensions for initial appraisal.

When calculating parquet amounts, it’s crucial to include mounting reserves. Our standard practice is to add 3% to the square meters in the drawing, with a minimum of +5cm in each direction, excluding walls or lines that will serve as starting point for installation. For complex layouts with many angles, we increase this minimum to +15cm.

While this method may appear cautious, our experience demonstrates its effectiveness in preventing construction delays due to unforeseen shortages on-site. Moreover, our unique finishes allow us to calculate reserves significantly below the typical industry average of 7% to 10%, with some exceptions in the industry reaching as high as 30%.

Including the above, our representative will provide you with an accurate production drawing for your approval and engage in discussions regarding tone selections and other specifications. Should you require physical tone samples, these are provided at no cost, with transportation arrangements managed by you, preferably through DHL or FedEx.

Upon finalization and approval of all details, a 50% advance payment is required to secure your order’s placement in the production queue. The remaining 50% must be settled before your desired finish departs from our factory. Throughout the negotiation process, our representative will keep you informed about actual workload and estimated lead times. Additionally, a 10% down payment allows you to secure the future price and specify the delivery date to fit your construction schedule.

Packaging & Delivery

Our finishes are meticulously stacked in plywood boxes, with 2mm foam film on each new layer to protect against scratches and moisture. Each box rests on a sturdy pallet and is fully wrapped in durable film, providing added protection from precipitation and moisture during transportation and potential transshipments en route to its final destination.

It is important to note that while we take great care to seal and protect our products, any packaging is resilient to environmental elements for a limited time only. Therefore, storing it in the open at its destination for an extended period is not advisable and should be avoided.

The standard package size is 3m long and 1.2m wide, ensuring optimal packaging efficiency for our finishes and enabling us to process hardwood raw materials into unique products without any loss.

Package height varies based on finish and quantity, with total weight being the primary limiting factor. For example, 110 m2 of 17.5mm parquet weighs nearly 1500kg and should be the maximum load per pallet to avoid unnecessary handling complications and ensure compatibility with smaller forklifts during unloading.

However, non-standard situations may necessitate alternative solutions, such as delivery by air. Rest assured, we are prepared to collaborate closely with you to tailor our packaging precisely to fit any specific situation.

Whether a specific delivery date is fixed or not, you will be notified in advance as your order nears completion to facilitate timely delivery arrangements. We offer to organize transportation or allow time for you to arrange delivery. Completed orders can be stored at the factory free of charge for up to two weeks.

Delivery options include land, rail (e.g., to China), sea, and air, depending on the destination. Once we or our country representative have the delivery address, we will provide our best quote, which is typically the most cost-effective.

Our parquet is manufactured and packed under strict climate control to ensure each plank is straight and can be installed without complications, achieving excellent results. Therefore, once the ordered products reach their destination, we recommend storing them indoors under roof conditions with temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.

If the original outer packaging layers are removed, it is advisable to store the contents prior to installation in an environment with a relative humidity of 40% to 55%. Alternatively, reuse the packaging materials in which the finish was delivered to continue protecting the parquet from unnecessary environmental influences.

Installing Parquet

The surfaces suitable for laying parquet include concrete, dry concrete, plywood, and plank floors, which allow any existing wood floor to be utilized as a suitable base. However, all mentioned surfaces must be flat, smooth, free from varnishes or paints, and coated with an appropriate primer.

When dealing with concrete, achieving a good and long-lasting result requires filling any irregularities and smoothing the surface. If the concrete has not sufficiently dried to a low moisture level, a special primer must be used to regulate moisture, allowing it to dissipate at a controlled rate that is not harmful to the parquet.

While preparations may be routine for real estate developers and craftsmen, they can be overwhelming for regular homeowners. To simplify matters, we provide preparation services and offer parquet installation by our experienced professionals with over 20 years of expertise. Alternatively, local craftsmen or customers themselves can handle the installation. We also assist customers and their chosen craftsmen throughout the entire assembly process, providing detailed parquet laying instructions designed to empower any meticulous individual to successfully install parquet flooring.

For the necessary environmental conditions required for assembly work, please follow the guidelines provided by the manufacturer of the adhesive to be used. We recommend PU-based adhesives, especially suitable for wide boards, offering superior adhesion and durability. Such adhesives are available at reputable local parquet suppliers, and we can include our recommended adhesive with your order upon request.

After installing the parquet, it is recommended to continue monitoring the relative humidity in the premises, ideally maintaining it between 35% and 60%. Fluctuations outside this range are acceptable but only for short periods. It’s recommended to take a proactive approach: add moisture if humidity levels are low, and reduce it if they are high.

Care & Maintenance

All our wooden finishes are treated with natural Osmo Polyx®-Oil hard wax oils, ensuring longevity across generations. This highly protective layer shields the wood from dirt and stains while allowing it to breathe.

Having said that, finishes such as floors should be regularly cleaned to minimize the impact of mechanical abrasion caused by sand and other hard particles that may land on the surface.

Please note that all-purpose cleaners may contain bleach, chlorine, ammonia, or abrasive powders that could damage the protective layer. Therefore, we highly recommend using OSMO’s specialized cleaners. These products are widely available globally, and we can include them with your initial order upon request.

If stains occur due to prolonged exposure to aggressive substances or liquids, the affected area can be easily repaired and re-oiled to restore its original luster. Depending on the severity, minor sanding may be necessary, though in most cases, OSMO’s products alone are sufficient for restoration.

The protective surface layer is renewable as soon as the floor begins to show signs of wear. This maintenance can be performed at any time without the need to sand off the initial coating, providing a significant advantage over paints and lacquers.

For more tips and guidelines, please refer to OSMO’s care guide. Additional useful information can also be found in the maintenance and care section on their website.

Aftersales

Our customers are always our top priority. Whether you purchase directly from the factory or through a country representative, you will always receive excellent treatment if any complications arise, whether they are our fault, the representative’s, related to deliveries, craftsmen, or even caused by customers themselves. All issues are promptly resolved to ensure seamless construction progress especially when more components are there to be installed simultaneously.

Hereto, it should be noted that despite operating complex industrial processes, our dedication to error eradication and decades of industry experience have yielded a high-quality track record, making downtime due to factory mishaps highly unlikely.
